The Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels, a site rich with historical and architectural significance, is embarking on an extensive renovation project. This initiative addresses not only the need for preservation but also the pressing challenge of aligning with climate objectives. Central to this effort is the development of a comprehensive energy master plan.
The park’s buildings, diverse in age and structure, present varying requirements for indoor climate conditions. Despite these differences, they share common challenges: low energy efficiency and high CO2 emissions stemming from outdated heating systems.
A thorough study will be conducted in partnership with Ingenium and Daidalos Peutz to explore ways to enhance energy efficiency and transition to fossil-free heating systems. This study will prioritize respect for the historical and cultural value of the site while addressing its energy needs.
