Train station becomes the new façade of Saint-Omer

Saint-Omer will reopen its train station in 100 days. The station is transformed in a station 2.0 with co-working space, co-design, fab-lab ateliers focusing on entrepreneurs and (future) innovators. The station acts as an engine for the redevelopment of the whole neighbourhood.

SumResearch was responsible for the masterplan to redevelop the whole area with a sustainable, well connected housing development and the transport node of the railway station. SumProject designed the new square in front of the historic station building and a new multimodal node including a compact bus station with glazed canopy (in collaboration with Ney&Partners). The transformation of the surrounding roads and a re-evaluation of the scenic green surroundings in relation with the context of the valley was also part of our mission.
