'Gentcement', a special blog devoted on architectural and urban development in and around Ghent, has published an update on the restoration of the 'Boekentoren'.

Currently the concrete facade of the tower is scraped off and replaced with a new coat of concrete. The special technique of hydrodemolition is used to remove the detoriated concrete. This process which uses high pressure water provides an excellent bonding surface for the new coating.
