Masterplan UNESCO world heritage Beguinage Bruges

Major restoration works are essential for several buildings at the Beguinage site to address structural deficiencies and improve substandard living conditions. The City aims for a high-quality, sustainable transformation that aligns with its 2050 climate goals, ensuring modern residential comfort while enhancing the site’s significant architectural and historical heritage.

The project’s primary objective is to develop a comprehensive master plan based on thorough preliminary research and site analysis. This study will map out current issues and heritage values, leading to sustainable restoration solutions for each individual unit. The final master plan will provide a phased roadmap, including restoration options and cost estimates, serving as the blueprint for the revitalization of the entire site according to contemporary housing standards.
