Feasibility study City Archives Brussels

The City of Brussels has launched a study to update the functional requirements for the preservation of the city's archives, the CPAS/OCMW archive, and parts of the archive of Museum of the City of Brussels. As guardians of our collective memory, these collections deserve a facility that reflects their significance while remaining deeply integrated into the urban fabric.

Recognizing its responsibility to future generations, the City aims to transition toward modern preservation standards. This study is a crucial first step in addressing the current precarious conditions of the archives, which are housed in a building no longer suited to their needs.

The team, coordinated by SumProject + SumResearch, is eager to apply its interdisciplinary expertise to this challenge. With a profound understanding of the Brussels heritage context, local regulations, and public services, we are committed to transforming this site into a future-proof environment that ensures the long-term conservation of the city's invaluable history.
