The construction of the new metro station 'Toots' located under 'Avenue de Stalingrad' is entering a new phase with the completion of the slurry wall.
A total of 36,000 m² of concrete was used during this phase. In addition, 4,000 tonnes of steel was used for reinforcement. The result? Slurry walls were built over a length of about one kilometre (roughly two walls of about 500 metres, from halfway between the 'Palais du Midi' and just before 'Place Bara'). The slurry walls form not only the outer walls, but also the foundations of the new metro infrastructure.
