The Winter Circus is located in the centre of Ghent. The building has a past as a circus and housed the Mahy garage for a long time. The garage closed its doors in 1978, after which the Winter Circus served as a depot for old-timers for another twenty years. The building stood empty until 'SoGent' bought it in 2005 on behalf of the City of Ghent with a view to renovation and integration in 'De Krook'. From 2023, the renovated building will be used as a multifunctional space for technology companies, as well as for culture and horeca.
