Sum in A+

A+, the leading Belgian architectural magazine, dedicated an article to the renovation of the 'Boekentoren' in Ghent.

In 2005 the decision was made to invest 30 million euros in the renovation of the 'Boekentoren', designed by Henry van de Velde in the 1930's and completed in 1942. With a spectacular underground storage facility and a new, concrete façade, this was a massive undertaking, but the 'Boekentorenteam', working with surgical precision and conceptual elegance, achieved a result well worth the wait.
